This solution uses a 100W power adapter for USB PD3.0 Type-C applications as an example. The main controller uses Tongjia Semiconductor LD7798 PFC+PWM Combo IC, and is paired with the secondary side synchronous rectifier LD8526GL and LD6612 to realize the high-efficiency, low no-load standby power consumption PD charger in this case for charging/power supply.

The STEVAL-USBC2DP is a compact Type-C to Display port image converter solution with a USB Type-C connector and a DisplayPort connector, providing a comprehensive VESA® DisplayPort standard interface using the alternate mode of the USB Type-C and Power Delivery specifications.

USB Type-C interface has a unique reversible design with 24 pins inside that define a variety of signal and power lines. When device A and device B are connected via a USB Type-C cable, the first step is a physical connection, with the pins docking with each other, which builds a basic channel for subsequent data and power transmission.

Thunderbolt utilizes the USB Type-C connector as a physical interface, but provides more advantages in performance and functions.
